HERITAGE HIGHLIGHTS: TRULY CLASSIC 80 ‘PALMYRE’
TRULY CLASSIC 80 “PALMYRE’
Palmyre, launched in 2000, is the first Truly Classic 80. Built for an experienced Dutch owner, she has many unique features that set her apart—starting with a deck filled with skylights that flood the interior with natural light, giving the saloon a warm Mediterranean atmosphere.
She also features hydraulic winches, making sail trimming as simple as pushing buttons, even with your feet. True to Holland Jachtbouw’s philosophy, this yacht, like all Truly Classics, has a hull form inspired by the great designs of Fife, Watson, Herreshoff, and Nicholson. These designs relied on short waterlines for their elegance, which then extended into powerful sailing length as the yacht heeled in a fresh breeze.
Palmyre combines traditional elegance with modern convenience, making her a pleasure to sail. Whether cruising at speed or on a relaxed trip, she performs well in a variety of conditions. This balance between style and functionality continues to set her apart, as Palmyre remains a true example of classic design blended with innovative craftsmanship.
